About
Jessica Miller and Kendra Eckert, Northern Utah Co-Ambassadors
Jessica Miller
I was born and raised in Utah, and I lived near both sets of my grandparents. I spent a lot of time with my grandmothers, and each of them were awesome bakers. They were the inspiration for my love of baking. I learned how to make pies, cinnamon rolls, bread, and cookies in their kitchens, and it will always be a cherished memory for me.
In my spare time, I like to read, make crafts (anything creative, really), and spend time with my family. As a family, we like to go on road trips and travel to visit other family members in other states.
What is the first thing you ever baked?
The first thing I ever baked was probably cookies. I still love baking cookies!
What was your biggest #bakingfail?
My biggest baking fail was when I was first learning how to cover a cake in fondant, and the cake I baked wasn't very sturdy. When I put the fondant on, the cake totally collapsed, and I had to throw the whole cake in the trash!
Kendra Eckert
I am equal parts HR leader, cake artist, and outdoor adventurer. I joined Cake4Kids in 2025 thinking it would be a fun way to give back—and quickly became hooked on the magic of turning flour, sugar, and creativity into something meaningful for kids in her community.
I live in Cache Valley, Utah, with my husband and daughter, where weekends are best spent outside or in the kitchen covered in frosting. I love creating beautiful, joy-filled cakes almost as much as I love the smiles that come with them.
What or who inspired your love of baking?
My mom. When I was little, she used to bake cakes, and I vividly remember all of her different cake pans—especially the ones shaped like Disney characters. The Winnie the Pooh pan always stood out to me. She also had a little “cake tackle box” filled with piping bags, tips, and cake toppers. Watching her create something so fun and creative left a lasting impression on me, and it’s a big part of what inspired my love of baking today.
What’s your favorite thing to bake?
I love baking no-bake cookies and classic chocolate chip cookies. I’ve spent a lot of time perfecting my chocolate chip cookie recipe, and it’s become one of my favorite things to make and share
