Fun Facts:

The first Starbucks coffee was made in Seattle

People in Seattle buy the most sunglasses per capita than any other U.S. city. With over 200 cloudy days per year, it's believed that locals either forget where they left their sunglasses or start their day without them thinking they won't be needed.

About

Esha Prasad, Seattle Ambassador

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I am a Californian at heart who moved to Washington a few years ago for work—my first time living outside The Golden State. I am a software engineer by day, and in my free time I love traveling, baking, and figure skating.

What inspired you to join Cake4Kids in your area?

When I was seven, my best friends and I baked a chocolate cake from a box mix at a sleepover. We smeared chocolate frosting on top and decorated it with flowers. Like any artist, we signed our masterpiece in icing, in our case with our initials. That experience sparked my interest in cake decorating so I took cake decorating classes at my local Michaels.

I wanted to find ways to use my cake decorating skills beyond my own kitchen. I have always enjoyed community service and giving back, so finding an opportunity that combined creativity with service felt especially meaningful.

Also, as a big birthday person, I believe birthdays are important milestones and every child deserves to feel celebrated on his or her special day. Cake4Kids’ tagline, “Delivering smiles to children one birthday cake at a time,” truly stood out to me and perfectly captured why I wanted to get involved.

What’s your favorite thing to bake?

I am a huge chocolate person and believe the more chocolate the better! I recently discovered a really good double chocolate chip cookie recipe and it has become my go to and favorite thing to bake.
