What is your favorite thing to bake?

I love baking all kinds of cakes and cupcakes. There is so much variety and opportunity for creativity in the flavors of cake, filling, frosting, and decoration. I love when people ask for new flavors that I haven’t tried before, and experimenting, but I also have a few standards that are dependable and never fail to please.

What was your biggest #bakingfail?

I made a layer cake with an ice cream layer for a friend's birthday, something I've successfully done many times before, but on this occasion, I didn't adequately freeze the finished cake. It was truly inspired, too: chocolate chip cake layers, caramel ice cream filling, whip cream frosting, and a caramel drip. It was so delicious we ate it off the table with spoons! But that doesn't stop my friends from reposting their Facebook memories of the mostly melted cake each year on Facebook to make sure I never forget!
