Help Cake4Kids Northern Virginia deliver smiles!

About

Kate Fullenkamp, Northern Virginia Ambassador

I love cake.  I really love to eat cake, but I also thoroughly enjoy the process of making cakes.  I am a process-oriented person and I find baking so cathartic.  My dream job is to run a bakery, but life in northern Virginia is expensive so I’ll keep my day job.  In the meantime though, I bake for family and friends, and love working with Cake4Kids.  I also enjoy reading, hiking, and I’ve just started taking golf lessons.

What or who inspired your love of baking?

I really got into baking when my sister started having kids.  I love making elaborate cakes for their birthdays.  Here we are 10 years and three kids later, and I’ve only missed one birthday.  They’re at fun ages where now we get to bake together and I love it.

What’s your life motto?

Life is short, eat dessert first!
