Mitchell Park Community Center, Palo Alto, CA
Every year we host an amateur cake contest, Cake-Off4Kids, to honor the underprivileged children we serve and to celebrate the art of cake baking.
The amateur cake contest is open to Cake4Kids volunteers and the general public (no professional bakers please). Bakers can choose to enter into various categories and the winners receive a $100 cash prize. Even if you don’t feel like competing or your skills aren't at the level of a contest, you should mark your calendar to come and attend, because it’s such an enjoyable family event. We have raffles, demonstrations and all sorts of fun but the best part is always the cake-tasting! Attendees have the opportunity to not only see 50 wonderful cakes but taste the cakes and vote for their favorite. Make sure you bring your appetite!
This year we only have one event instead of two and have moved the location to Palo Alto to be more accommodating for the South Bay, North Bay and East Bay.
For those interested in competing in this amateur competition, we have 5 different categories:
Best tasting, best decorated, secret ingredient, made by kids (ages 5-11 years), made by kids (ages 11-16 years). The entry fee for all categories is $15 per baker and you can find out more and register below. The attendee tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children.
